The University of Bologna and its Faculty of Agriculture have a strong expertise and experience in the field of research, training and know how exchange at the international level and with Central Eastern Europe and the Balkans in particular. Its experience has been achieved through a variety of research programmes, specialization courses, masters.
The project BiomAlba aims to continue and strengthen the cooperation between the Agricultural Faculty - University of Bologna (UniBo) and the Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT) with particular reference to the subject of energy use of the biomass.
The two Universities and the other partners of the project (the National Agency of Natural Resources - NANR) and the Albanian Association of Alimentary Oil (an external observer which has expressed its interest in the project) will be responsible to guarantee the participation and the support of local administrations, and other research and development agencies such as UniAdrion (Virtual University of the Adriatic Ionian Basin), which could guarantee important synergies in the dissemination of project results.
The proposal is related to the conceptual framework created within the BiomAdria project which is financed under the Interreg IIIA programme and leaded by Emilia Romagna Region. The Project (BiomAdria) is aimed to analyze the economic and feasibility conditions for the realization of a medium-small pilot plant for the direct combustion of biomasses from agricultural byproducts in the Republic of Serbia.
A particular attention will be given to the creation of specific regional synergies and common actions among the two projects.
